Another Friday the 13th game is in development.
That's according to Horror Inc.'s Robbie Barsamian, who confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend that not only are we getting a new prequel movie, but a new game set in the Jason Vorhees universe is also on the way, too.
Barsamian stopped short of providing any other meaningful details — so we don't even know who's developing the game, let alone what it'll be about, who it may star, or when we'll get to play it — but "both [movie and game] are coming."
"I can tell you that a new sequel movie and new sequel game, are at the top of our list. It's where most of our energy's going right now. And I can tell you finally we're in a position to deliver on that," said Barsamian, as spotted by BloodyDisgusting.
"While we're not officially announcing with our partners today, both are coming. They're both in the works and they’re both coming."
This is, of course, on top of the new Peacock show, Crystal Lake. Bryan Fuller, Marc Toberoff, Victor Mille, and Barsamian are producing this horror series, which also promises to be a prequel to the film franchise. Quite how this fits in with a sequel movie, however, we're not yet sure.
For 30 years, lumbering lunatic Jason Voorhees — whether he was a backwoods psycho or an undead maniac — terrorized New Jersey's scenic Crystal Lake (and occasionally Manhattan and future Outer Space). By the third Friday the 13th film, in 1982, the murderous Jason finally acquired what would become his signature look, with a hockey mask covering his misshapen face, transforming him into a horror villain icon for the ages.
