Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale comes to an end today, but there are still a lot of great deals available in these final hours to check out. We here on the IGN Deals team have been scouring all of the October Prime Day sales for the best discounts since the event first began yesterday and there have been some clear winners that are absolutely worth buying right now. If you're coming into the sale at the very last minute, we've got you covered with the most popular deals still live this afternoon.
Amazon shuts down this Prime-exclusive sale at 12 AM PT, so that's your cut off for shopping these discounts. Some prices might stick around after that due to the extended Walmart sale running parallel, but don't count on it.
Physical Media Is Buy 2, Get 1 Free
The most popular sale overall is one that actually started before Prime Big Deal Days even kicked off. Amazon's "3 for 2" sale has returned and it includes a ton of 4K movies, books, and even vinyl. A lot of these items have also been discounted for October Prime Day, so this promotion is a really great way to get some extra savings.
There is no clear end date to these types of sales, but since it's the same type of promotion that Amazon offered for Prime Day earlier this year, we expect it will still be around tomorrow in some capacity.
A 1TB MicroSD Express Card for Switch 2
The Nintendo Switch 2 has been extremely popular since it launched earlier this year. And while we haven't seen any sort of Switch 2 deals during October Prime Day, we did get the first real discount on a 1TB MicroSD Express Card. This discount has been extremely popular this year, largely thanks to the Switch 2 requiring this specific type of card to add any extra storage. It's also worth noting that this is the overall best Switch 2 SD card you can buy right now, according to the experts on IGN's tech team.
This Adorable LEGO Super Mario Set
There have been a lot of LEGO deals during October Prime Day, but the most popular discount so far is on the Piranha Plant set. The price has dropped all the way down to just $35, which is outrageously low for any sort of 18+ set. This is one of our staff's favorite LEGO Nintendo sets available and it's probably never going to be cheaper than it is right now.
The Complete Calvin and Hobbes Collection
For fans of Calvin and Hobbes (which is likely anyone who's ever read it), there's currently a really good deal on the hardcover box set. It includes every comic strip from the entire 10-year run of the series as well as full-color illustrations. This is the lowest price we've seen on this box set all year and it's an awesome gift idea worth grabbing before Amazon's sale wraps up tonight.
A New Android Phone
If you've been looking to upgrade to a new phone before Black Friday, there's actually some really good deals on unlocked Android phones right now. The most popular of these deals is the Samsung Galaxy S25. The S25 is the latest flagship phone from Samsung and this is the lowest price we've seen on the standard model since it launched back in February. Amazon is also offering the first deals on Google Pixel 10 phones as well, but we'd recommend this Samsung model ahead of those if you're in the market for an iPhone alternative.
A Kindle Tablet
The Kindle Paperwhite is IGN's overall favorite reading tablet available, and it's currently down to the lowest price we've seen in 2025. These are the same prices we saw during Prime Day earlier this year, so if you didn't pick one up at a discount back then, now is the time to do so. This fall sale has historically been one of the best times of the year to buy a Kindle as Amazon doesn't always drop prices as much on these devices during its Black Friday sales.
The First Deal on Death Stranding 2
Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding series isn't for everyone, but it's still one of the most popular new PS5 games of 2025 and this is the first time it's gone on sale. We gave Death Stranding 2: On the Beach a 9 out of 10 in our review calling it "a triumphant sequel that emphatically delivers on the promise of its original."
This deal will most likely return at the same price during Black Friday this year, but if you want to play it right now, there's no reason not to pick up a discounted copy. This is the best PS5 game deal we've found in the sale.
What to Buy During Black Friday Sales Instead
The deals we've listed above are just flat out good deals. These are discounts that we expect won't be around during Black Friday this year, or at the very least be at the same price. But the fact of the matter is that Black Friday is better than October Prime Day for pretty much everything else you'd want to buy on sale. So if you want to save as much money as possible this year and don't need to do all of your shopping right now, it's better to wait to buy most big-ticket items and gifts.
The most obvious examples of purchases to hold off on are TVs and video game consoles. There are quite a few good OLED TV deals going on right now, but those same discounts (and better ones) will likely be around for Black Friday. There have also been essentially zero consoles on sale during Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale, so the only reason not to wait is if you're anticipating another price increase to hit before November. The exception to this is the Switch 2, which is almost certainly not going on sale this year. If you want the latest Nintendo console, there's no reason to wait.
You'll also likely want to hold off on buying a new gaming laptop or PC in October as many of the sales going on right now are probably not as good as we'll see for Black Friday or Cyber Monday this year. This is largely due to every retailer offering competing sales, allowing prices to drop a little bit further. That same concept will apply to Apple products as well. The Apple deals for October Prime Day are pretty good, but there will almost certainly be lower prices next month if you can hold out that long.
