Amazon Prime Day doesn't start until midnight tonight, but early deals on Amazon devices have already arrived. Although not every Kindle is on sale just yet (more deals start tomorrow), the two most expensive e-reader models have gotten some pretty significant discounts. The Kindle Scribe and Kindle Colorsoft have both received rare price cuts that finally make them more affordable.
These particular Kindle models are more expensive because they go beyond the usual reading tablet capabilities of the standard Kindle. The Scribe is essentially a digital notebook with some cool AI tools and the Colorsoft is the only model that lets you read comics and graphic novels in color. With the early Prime Day deals, these are the lowest prices we've ever seen.
Early Prime Day Kindle Deals
Despite Amazon making these devices, we don't often see Kindle deals this good. The Colorsoft bundle deal is especially great because it puts the e-reader itself at its lowest price to date. The last discount we saw on that particular model was back in April during the Amazon book sale and this bundle is now $13 cheaper than that. The wireless charging dock and cover that are included are a nice bonus, but the discount on the device itself is good enough for me to recommend you buy it now.
The Kindle Scribe discount is also worth noting. The lowest price we've ever seen on the 16GB version was $299.99 previously, but the new Prime Day price is down to $259.99. It's still the most expensive Kindle you can buy at that price, but with $140 shaved off the price right now, it's the best time to buy it.
Will there be more Kindle deals on Prime Day?
If you're hoping to buy the standard Kindle or the Kindle Paperwhite at a discount this Prime Day, the good news is that those deals are indeed on their way. Amazon has confirmed that prices will drop on both of the more affordable Kindle devices tomorrow. As to what those prices will be exactly is not yet clear; Amazon has only stated that Prime members will be able to save up to 25%. If either the Kindle or Kindle Paperwhite drop by that much, they would be dipping down to their lowest prices ever as well. With these early deals on the more expensive models being so good ahead of the event, we expect Prime Day 2025 will be the best time all year to buy a new e-reader.
