In Chapter 6 Season 3, there seems to be a lack of items that let you speed across the map, but the Surf Cube alleviates some of those pains. However, as the Surf Cube is a Hero Item, it isn’t commonly found. Luckily, there is one guaranteed way to get a Surf Cube every game.

How to get the Surf Cube in Fortnite

The Surf Cube can be purchased from Lightrider at Shiny Shafts for 300 gold bars. However, Lightrider will only have one in stock, so you’ll need to be one of the first players to interact with her.

If the Surf Cube is out of stock, there’s a chance that you can find it in these locations:

• Academy Tech Labs
• B rank Hero Caches or higher
• Hero Stands
• Random chest loot

How to use the Surf Cube in Fortnite

To ride the Surf Cube, you’ll need to press your shoot button, which will bring out a surfboard made of blue cubes. While you’re on the board, you can press either your sprint or aim button to get a speed boost and float into the air.

The Surf Cube uses an ammo system to show you how much longer you can ride the surfboard. Each ammo piece can be substituted for seconds, which means you can use the Surf Cube for a total of 150 seconds. Additionally, if you have enough ammo, you can ride the board for up to 50 seconds on each use, but using the speed boost will rapidly reduce your time.
